Taking Extra Steps to Ensure Your Comfort
There is often considerable stress associated with coming to a funeral home and making funeral arrangements. That is why, at Maher-Melbourne Funeral Home, we take extra steps to relieve as much of that stress as we can.
One of the ways we help make families comfortable by providing a private, specially designed facility for planning funerals and cremations. Our Funeral & Cremation Planning Center has an easily accessible handicapped entrance right off the parking lot, putting you just steps away from the Family Arrangement Conference Room.
The facility’s street entrance opens into a spacious family reception lobby where a staff member will greet your family and escort you to the Family Arrangement Conference Room. There you will find we have taken extra care to make the arrangement room a comfortable place for families to gather. With simple décor, a large table and comfortable chairs, the arrangement room feels similar to a dining room, creating a familiar setting for families.
At Maher-Melbourne Funeral Home our aim is to listen to the family’s needs and wants, then present services to satisfy their wishes. We have designed the Planning Center so families can make all their plans in this one facility. In addition to portfolios of many options related to funeral and cremation services, families will also receive information on floral selections, cemetery fees and schedules, and other items related to planning a service.
Our staff is always available to help each family plan a meaningful celebration of the life of their loved one. At Maher-Melbourne Funeral Home we provide families the opportunity to acknowledge their loss in a healthy way. We have found each family has a different way to accomplish this, and this is what makes each service we perform unique.
Over the years we have helped many families create personalized services for their loved ones. From setting up a remembrance table displaying photos, military medals, art work, and letters to setting up a recreation of a garden, including the garden gate. We will take the extra steps necessary to ensure your family’s wishes are fulfilled. Today many funeral goods such as caskets, vaults and stationery can be customized to reflect the life of the loved one.
Planning a funeral can be a very difficult time in a person’s life. That is why we do all we can to make that time as easy and comfortable as possible. If you would like more information on our services, please feel free to call or stop in. We are always available to answer your questions.

Lucy Maher Reception Room
We provide a luncheon room on the premises for families wishing to return after the funeral service. Many families appreciate this as an alternative to hosting a memorial meal in their home or in a restaurant. A variety of menus are available to satisfy each family’s preference. This generous space is also available for community and private functions.
